Bugatti Divo set for August debut, a €5 million cornering machine?

Bugatti has dropped more hints of their latest project, the Bugatti Divo on social media. The video is as obscure as can be but the accompanying caption “#BuiltforConers, highlights what the carmaker intendeds to achieve with the Divo.

The Divo takes inspiration from the late Albert Divo, a French racing driver who won the famous Targa Florio in Sicily twice with Bugatti in the late 1920s. “Happiness is not around the corner. It is the corner. The Divo is made for corners,” says President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., Stephan Winkelmann when he first spoke about the Divo project.

From the video, we can tell that the Divo will differ in terms of design from the Chiron. Expect Bugatti to introduce a new chassis enhancing components such as extensive use of lightweight materials, reworked suspension, more aerodynamic exterior package and more. The 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 should be carried over, producing 1,500 hp and 1600 Nm of twist.

Only 40 units of the Bugatti Divo will be built and will fetch a price tag of €5 million Euros (RM23 million) before options, almost twice the price of the hardcore Chiron Sport which we had the joy and privilege to welcome it in Malaysia.
