Mercedes-AMG has just announced that their latest four-door super saloon will be making its way to showrooms in Europe starting September 2018 after its world premiere in early March. The V8 powered Mercedes-AMG GT four-door will be available in two flavours – 63 S 4MATIC+ and 63 4MATIC.
Sporting a four-door fastback layout, the AMG GT four-door takes inspiration from the AMG GT sportscar but with the added practicality and comfort for four occupants. Visually, the four-door wears the Panamericana grille, wide bumper cutouts for better cooling, large AMG alloy wheels, adaptive rear spoiler and quad exhaust outlets.
Inside, the AMG GT four-door features one of the most luxurious interiors the three-pointed star has to offer with Widescreen cockpit, AMG Performance steering wheel, Nappa leather, Burmester sound system, ENERGIZING comfort control and more. The sleek centre console design is also unique to the AMG GT four-door.
The 63 S 4MATIC+ variant is powered by the brands famed 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that pushes out 639 hp and 900 Nm of torque, enough to propel the fastback to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds with a limited top speed of 315 km/h.
The non-S variant is no slouch too, commanding 585 hp and 800 Nm at its disposal. It will complete the century sprint 0.2 seconds slower at 3.4 seconds and a lowered top speed of 310 km/h. Both engine variants are paired to a nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
Prices for the Mercedes-AMG GT four-door 63 4MATIC+ starts from €150k (RM711k) while the hotter S variant retails at €167k (RM791k). There is also the limited-run Edition 1 that adds €18k to the price tag of the 63 S 4MATIC.
With Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s (MBM) track record of offering an exciting line up of AMG vehicles in the country, it would not come as a surprise for them to attempt at redirecting some prospective customers of the Porsche Panamera to their premise. Of course, you can always place a special order from MBM’s network of dealers.
