Ask and you shall receive, Naza Kia Malaysia (NKM) has officially teased the highly anticipated Kia Stinger GT on their official Facebook page. In a single image with the caption “They’ve been talking about it. You will be too, soon…#stinger” hints at the imminent launch of the brand’s halo model with no exact launch date.
First previewed at the 2017 Malaysia Auto Show, the Stinger GT is available with a 3.3-litre turbocharged V6 with 365 hp and 510 Nm, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo T-GDI with 244 hp and 353 Nm or a 2.2-litre turbodiesel CRDi with 197 hp and 440 Nm. All engine choices are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with power sent either to the rear or all four corners.
It remains to be seen which variant or variants will NKM offer, whether would it be the heart thumping 3.3-litre V6 or the road tax friendly 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo. NKM may even take this opportunity to highlight their commitment towards diesel power and offer the turbodiesel too, so it is all up in the air for now.
To recap, the Kia Singer GT goes for £31,995 (RM180k) to £40,495 (RM228k), about the same price bracket of the Audi A4 and Mercedes-AMG C43 in the UK. Now that you have some perspective of its product positioning, how much would you pay for one of these beauties here in Malaysia?
