Jagaur Land Rover announces new price list with 0% GST, effective 1 June 2018

Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLR) has just released their revised price list for all Jaguar and Land Rover models in view of the zero-rated Goods and Services Tax (GST) implemented by the Ministry of Finance (MoF) of the new Pakatan Harapan Government.

Due to the fully imported nature of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, the 6 percent price difference is a substantial one, between RM11k to RM49k for Land Rover models while Jaguar models have their retail prices reduced by some RM19k to RMk.

The new price list will take effect from 1 June 2018 until further notice from the MoF to implement the Sales and Services Tax (SST) which Tun Daim Zainuddin, head of the Council of Eminent Persons hinted it will be in “two to three months’ time”.

On top of the revised prices to exclude GST, JLR is also offering attractive cash rebates and accessories vouchers on selected models in conjunction with the Raya festive season. Looking at these attractive offers and zero-rated GST, we’ve broken down in detail whether should you buy a new car amidst the “tax-holiday”.
