Nasim Sdn. Bhd. has just launched the new, fully imported Peugeot 5008 Allure THP SUV that shares the same Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) as the Peugeot 3008 we reviewed recently. Here are the Things You Need To Know about Peugeot’s latest offering.
Priced at RM 173,888, the Peugeot 5008 is offered in just one variant – the Allure THP – with a 5-year / 120,000 km warranty as well as 3-years Free 24-hour Peugeot Assistance.
It offers two extra seats and a larger boot compared to the Peugeot 3008 but retains the same 1.6-litre THP 4-cylinder engine with 165 hp and 240 Nm from as low as 1,400 rpm; mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. As it is front-wheel driven and not all-wheel, expect the 5008 to be a little more eager off the line.
When the tarmac ends, the Peugeot 5008 offers five different driving modes – Standard, ESP Off, Sand, Mud and the most unlikely in Malaysia, Snow.
