All-new Lexus ES shown, looks like a watered down LS and we love it

Lexus has just confirmed that the single teaser image released earlier is indeed the all-new Lexus ES. The Japanese carmaker has also shown the seventh-generation premium sedan in full ahead of its scheduled world premiere at the 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition.

Details of the new ES are scarce, but the company promises “athletic performance and renowned refinement”. Expect the new ES to share the same Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform as the all-new Toyota Camry

Visually, the ES wears the familiar family fascia only here, it gets a new vertical slats Spindle grille design as opposed to the 3D mesh style of its larger sibling, the LS. Slim LED headlamps with the signature ‘arrow tick’ LED daytime running lights are present while the taillamps are reminiscent of the LC Coupe’s design.

No word on the interior either but expect the ES to take inspiration from the LS in terms of cabin architecture and design. Lexus Malaysia has the ES in their stable and judging from its latest product offensive (LC, LS & RX L), the all-new model should also make its way here in due course.
