Lexus teases new spindle grille design, could this be new Lexus ES sedan?

Looks like Lexus is geared for another world debut after releasing a single teaser image of its upcoming model launch happening on 25 April 2018 in Beijing, China. The Japanese luxury carmaker also boldly claims that the new model aims to “radically transform the concept of comfort for luxury consumers all over the world”.

In the official teaser, the new model a new spindle grille design that features single vertical slats as opposed to the recently launched LS’ elaborate grille. Looking to the sides, the headlamps appear to take after the LS’ sharp design. The blue hue on the emblem suggests that this new model will be offered with a hybrid system.

Recently, a leaked image was found circulating the internet and according to the sources, the model in question is the all-new Lexus ES. Compared side by side, the leaked image shares the same spindle grille design as well as the headlamp edges with what Lexus has released.

Only here, we can see a lot more of the headlamps and lower bumper trims with a chrome trim. The headlamps appear to be of projector items which suggest the car to be of a lower-spec variant. Guess we’ll have to wait until April for the full reveal.
