Speaking to the test drivers, Head of Driving Dynamics, Karsten Schebsdat was eager to promote that the Touareg is able to handle tight corners like a Golf. Its agile handling prowess is due to innovations such as the MQB platform, roll stabilisation and rear-wheel steering that reduces turning radius from 12.20 metres to 11.13 compared to the outgoing model.

Inside, the new Innovision Cockpit is Volkswagen’s latest digital instrument cluster that combines two 12.0- and 15.0-inch displays to create a seamless surface. The infotainment screen controls the main functions of infotainment, navigation and air-conditioning while the driver display provides all the essential driving data to the driver. New interior trims include radiate real wood and aluminium to create a luxurious cabin.

The all-new Volkswagen Touareg will be presented to the world on 23rd March 2018 in China, the firm’s largest individual market and also the world’s strongest growing SUV market. The German carmaker is expected to double its sales volume of the Touareg in China by 2023.
