Honda HR-V Mugen introduced in Malaysia, 1,020 units only, RM118k

Before the new facelift Honda HR-V hits our local shores, Honda Malaysia has decided to give the ageing HR-V a final hurrah in the form of the limited-edition Honda HR-V Mugen. Only 1,020 units of these sporty HR-V will be made.

Sitting above the range-topping V-spec HR-V, the HR-V Mugen comes with the full Mugen body kit consisting of a front bumper, front grille, rear bumper, rear spoiler, Mugen exterior emblem and Mugen decal. Inside, the changes are less apparent, you’ll only find a Mugen emblem at the gear lever, red stitching carpet mats and aluminium sport pedals.

The HR-V Mugen was based on customers’ feedback requesting for a sportier and stylish exterior to complement the crossover’s practicality. As part of Honda’s continuous effort to achieve No. 1 in Customer Satisfaction, the company is committed to continue offer products based on their requirements.

Mechanically, the HR-V Mugen retains a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC paired to a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) to drive the front wheels. Output is rated at 140 hp and 172 Nm of torque.

Only two colours are available for the Honda HR-V Mugen – Dark Ruby Red Pearl and White Orchid Pearl (RM300 option). The limited-run HR-V Mugen is priced at RM118,800 on-the-road without insurance. Honda Malaysia are now accepting bookings for the car but deliveries will only commence from 5 March 2018 onwards.
