We need this Ford Edge ST for some variety in our local SUV market



Ford has introduced the all-new Edge ST, the brand’s first SUV to be tuned by Ford Performance – building on its best ever SUV sales year in the US.

The Edge ST will feature the most powerful V6 engine in its class- a specially-tuned 2.7-litre twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine pushing out 335 hp and 515 Nm of torque – mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, delivering power to all four wheels.

The Edge ST features a new front and rear end, with a wide mesh grille ahead for optimal cooling, deep side skirts and dual exhaust outlets. Full LED headlamps and LED fog lamps are standard along with a redesigned hood imparts a wider, more planted stance. Elevating its exterior’s presence even more are a set of 21-inch wheels beneath the arches.

On the inside, features a 12-speaker B&O PLAY audio system by HARMAN specially for the Edge. Standard equipment also includes the FordPass Connect, with a Wi-Fi hotspot that gives internet access to up to 10 devices. Using the FordPass app, owners can also use their smartphone to start, lock and unlock and to locate their vehicle.

Other creature comforts include voice command, Enhanced Active Park Assist, 180-degree front/rear cameras and ultrasonic sensors.

Being performance-oriented, the Edge ST does not seem to lack on the safety front either with features such as Forward Collision Warning, Dynamic Brake Support, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Post-Collision Braking, Evasive Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping Alert, Lane-Keeping Assist, Auto High Beams and Hill-Start Assist.
