A French company has developed an EV that costs as low as RM35k

French automotive parts firm Valeo has revealed a low-voltage electric vehicle concept that could be sold for as little as £6600 (approx. RM 35k).

The EV is powered by a low-voltage 48V motor; making it more frugal than the 400V motors found in current electric cars and more importantly, cheaper to produce.

The concept is capable of offering around a 100 km of driving range with a top speed of 100 km/h which Valeo believes are all that’s needed for commuting around the city.

At the on-going Consumer Electric Show in Las Vegas, Valeo will be displaying a new system that adjusts a car’s interior temperature according to each passenger’s needs while also releasing soothing fragrances according to the driver’s mood and physical condition i.e. fatigue or stress.
