Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, 2.9L V6, 510 hp & 600 Nm, 0-100km/h in 3.8s!

When Alfa Romeo unveiled their first ever SUV, the Stelvio, the Italian carmaker wasted no time to slap on the legendary “four-leaf clover” badge. Twelve months since its debut, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is now officially on sale in Europe.

Equipped with an aluminium 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 and an eight-speed automatic, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio packs 510 hp and 600 Nm of torque under its belt. Q4 all-wheel drive with Alfa Torque Vectoring is standard on UK-bound models. The SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds onwards to a best-in-class top speed of 283 km/h. No wonder it wears the title of fastest SUV around the Nürburgring.

The intelligent Q4 AWD system sends 100 percent of its power to the rear wheels on every day driving conditions. But should the need arise, the system can instantaneously transmit 50 percent of available torque to the front axle for better grip.

Alfa’s most powerful SUV rides on double wishbones on the front axle and a multilink system at the rear. The suspension features electronically-controlled dampers and Active Suspension Control to enable drivers to select performance or comfort-oriented driving characteristics.

As standard, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio employs high-performance steel brakes while carbon ceramics are available as an option. The ceramic brakes are not only 17 kg lighter but offers unparalleled braking performance in demanding situations.

UK deliveries is slated for Q2 of 2018 with full specification and pricing is to be confirmed at a later date. It is a shame that Alfa Romeo is no longer represented here in Malaysia because we reckon that this Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio can step up to the big boys like Porsche Macan and Mercedes-AMG GLC 43!
