Subaru WRX STI S208 unveiled at Tokyo, 2.0L 325hp/432Nm, 6-spd manual only



Subaru has unveiled the limited edition WRX STI S208 in full here at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. As reported earlier, the high-performance sedan is limited to 450 units only, among those, 350 units are NBR Challenge Package that comes with additional carbon bits to commemorate Subaru’s involvement in the 24 Hours Nürburgring race.

Under the hood, Subaru has given the standard 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine a slight bump in power to 325 hp and 432 Nm of torque, red lining at 7,200 rpm. Drive is sent to all-four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

Unique upgrades to the S208 include a quicker steering ratio of 11:1, flexible front tower bar, STI Bilstein suspension with variable damping force, 19-inch BBS forged aluminium wheels and 18-inch Brembo brakes all round. In its standard trim, the S208 comes with a dry carbon lip spoiler, more aggressive bumpers, STI-specific Recaro bucket seats and dedicated sports meter. The S208 is available in two exterior shades: WR Blue Pearl and Crystal White Pearl.

The NBR Challenge Package adds an exposed dry carbon roof, black wheel finish and the option for a large carbon rear wing. Customers can also choose to have their S208 NBR Challenge Package to be finished in Cool Grey Khaki paintjob.

Prices for the WRX STI S208 starts from ¥5.8 million to ¥6.58 million if you want the large carbon rear wing.
