This Audi RS 5 Coupe Carbon Edition is a proper eye candy for Carbon Fibre lovers

If you think that the regular Audi RS 5 Coupe does not pack the aggression befitting of the RS badge, the Carbon Edition will convince you to sign your name on the dotted line for one. Available for order in the UK at a £12,500 (RM70k) premium over the standard RS 5 Coupe, the Carbon Edition adds motorsport-inspired Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) trims.

Panels that have been swapped out for CFRP parts include the bonnet, roof, front and rear spoiler, side sills, diffuser insert and wing mirror caps. Wheels have also been upsized to 20-inch ‘5-arm peak’ design alloy wheels finished in anthracite matt black. Despite the larger wheel diameter, each individual wheel is 2 kg lighter than the standard 19-inch items, giving a total unsprung weight savings of 8 kg. The Red brake callipers are also a unique addition to the Carbon Edition.

Pop open the bonnet and you’ll be greeted by a CFRP engine cover that nestles the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 that continues to churn out 444 hp and 600 Nm of twisting force. Drive is sent to all four corners via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission. Century sprint is done and dusted in 3.9 seconds while top speed is limited to 250 km/h which can be extended to 280 km/h for a fee.

During the local launch of the all-new Audi A4 B9, Audi Malaysia has revealed their plans of introducing new S and RS models. Twelve months have since passed and we have not caught wind of the launch of the S or RS models. Fingers crossed that the good people at Audi Malaysia has not killed the hopes and dreams of owning one of these fire-breathing Audi Sport models.
