McLaren 570GT XP Green MSO Collection – tribute to the iconic F1, 6 units only

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has just announced a limited number of bespoke 570GT using traditional British automotive colour. It celebrates the iconic F1 XP GT “Longtail” model built in 1997 and only six units of the specially commissioned 570GT will be made exclusively for UK and Europe.

The six cars are finished in McLarens historic “XP Green” exterior paint – the same colour as the F1 XP GT “Longtail” – flanked by Saddle Tan aero pinstripes around the front aero blades, side skirts and rear diffuser. A subtle silver-grey Union Jack emblem is fitted on both sides of the front wheel arches. MSO has replaced the front splitter, door inserts, side air intakes, side skirts and rear bumper, diffuser and spoiler in MSO Black.

Inside, the luxurious cabin features Saddle Tan interior with green leather inserts to reflect the exterior theme. Additionally, a dedicated plaque “one of six MSO Collection 2017” is mounted on the centre tunnel (below the infotainment screen). The 570GT gets a unique side-hinged glass door that gives the super sportscar extra 220 litres of cargo space and together with the existing front trunk, it boats a total boot space of 350 litres.

The 570GT remains powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 562 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the rear-wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Despite the additional 37 kg weight penalty from the rear glass deck, the 570GT will still sprint to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds (0.2 seconds slower than the 570S) with a top speed of 326 km/h.

Base price of the 570GT in the UK starts at £154,000 (RM872k). With the MSO contents and extra options ticked, the final bill for the XP Green MSO Collection McLaren 570GT reads £188,567 (RM1.06 mill). Is the paintjob and Saddle Tan interior worth the additional £34,567 (RM190k) ? You decide.
