Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has announced that the locally assembled S90 T8 plug-in hybrid is now open for booking, joining the fully imported S90 and V90 T6 R-Design line up. Like the locally assembled XC90 T8 PHEV, the S90 T8 PHEV will be furnished in Inscription trim level, the highest and most luxurious trim available in the Volvo family. Complete specification of the vehicle will be released during the official launch however, the highly equipped XC90 T8 should give you an idea what the S90 T8 will feel like.
Motivation is courtesy of a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder mated to an electric motor to push out a combined output of 407 hp and 640 Nm of twisting force. Drive is channelled to all four-corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Century sprint is done and dusted in 4.8 seconds, 1.1 seconds quicker than the S90 T6 R-Design.
VCM has not confirmed a launch date for the S90 T8 Inscription but if you’re intrigued by a more powerful and luxurious Volvo S90 at under RM350k, better hurry on to your nearest Volvo showroom now.
