Audi Q2 2.0 TFSI now gets quattro, 187 hp, 0-100 km/h in 6.5 secs!

Previously when the Audi Q2 went on sale in UK, the company’s quattro all-wheel drive system was available exclusively for the 148 hp 2.0-litre TDI turbodiesel. Aiming to broaden the compact SUV’s appeal, Audi has since added a petrol-powered Q2 equipped with quattro AWD.

The new variant gets a 2.0-litre TFSI engine producing 187 hp, the highest power output currently available in a Q2. A seven-speed S Tronic double clutch gearbox is employed to send drive to all four corners. With quattro, the Q2 takes off 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, making it the fastest sprinting Q2 to date. Top speed is limited to 227 km/h.

Q stands for quattro

Like the rest of the Audi range, the Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro is available with S Line trim which adds LED headlamps, LED interior lighting, unique bumper designs, 18-inch alloy wheels, Titanium Grey C-pillar blades and sport seats with S Line embroidery.

At launch, the Q2 quattro variant is available with an Edition #1 package (on top of S Line, pictured in yellow) which gets exclusive items such as 19-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, Quantum Grey paint colour, black styling pack, Manhattan Grey finish on the bumpers, wheel arches, side skirts and bumper inserts as well as Brilliant Black C-Pillar blades with four-rings logo.

Inside the Edition #1, it gets sport seats in Granite Grey fine Nappa leather with Amaretto brown contrast stitching, multi-coloured LED interior pack and brown contrast stitching on the floor mats. In UK, the Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro retails from £31,760 (RM177k) to £36,750 (RM205k).

Previously, Audi Malaysia hinted that the Q2 will hit our shores in the first half of 2017, but seeing that we’re fast approaching the end of third quarter, no one knows for sure when the MINI Countryman rival will go on sale here. Perhaps Audi Malaysia was patiently waiting for this high output quattro, we hope…
