Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has added yet another locally assembled car to the ALLSTAR line up, this time it’s the facelifted Jetta. Like the Polo and Vento, the new Jetta ALLSTAR gets RM3,000 worth of upgrades inside and out for RM1,000 premium over the Jetta Trendline’s RM108,990 asking price.
Launched here at the inaugural Volkswagen Fest, the Jetta ALLSTAR gets additional accessories including rear trunk spoiler, ‘ALLSTAR’ emblems, scuff plates and carpet mats as well as aluminium sports pedals.

Elsewhere, the Jetta ALLSTAR soldiers on with halogen headlamps, front and rear fog lamps, twin exhaust tailpipes, LED for rear license plates, heated side mirrors, heat insulated windows and 16-inch ‘Sedona’ alloy wheels wrapped in 205/55 section rubbers.
Inside, it gets the same leather wrapped multifunctional steering wheel, fabric seats, RCD 220 head unit with six speakers, rear air vents and single-zone automatic climate control.
No changes under the hood either, retaining the 1.4-litre single turbocharged TSI petrol engine capable of delivering 148 hp and 250 Nm. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG dual clutch transmission. Skeptics may be shy away from the DSG but our time with Century sprint time takes 8.6 seconds and on full whack, it will hit 220 km/h. Official fuel economy figures are rated at 5.0L/100 km.
As standard the Jetta ALLSTAR comes with six airbags, ABS with brake assist, ESC, hill-hold control, brake pad wear monitor, ISOFIX mounting points and Volkswagen Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS).
Customers can choose from four exterior shades – Candy White, Platinum Grey, Reflex Silver and Deep Black. Like all Volkswagen cars, the Jetta ALLSTAR comes with a 5-Year manufacturer’s warranty and 5-years roadside assistance.
