Kia Motors Corporation announced today its July 2017 global sales figures for passenger cars, recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles, recording a total of 216,118 units sold.
Sales in the domestic market dropped by 0.9% compared to last year, resulting 43,611 units sold, which is comparable to July 2016 when Kia benefited from newly launched vehicles such as Cadenza and Niro – with prominence in the US market. Overseas sales also saw a 6.8% drop with 172,507 units, compared to the previous year – largely attributed to a decrease in sales in the Chinese market.
The Sportage was Kia’s best-selling model in the overseas markets during July 2017 with more than 29,498 units of the compact SUV sold. The Cerato was the second best seller with 23,626 units sold, followed by the Rio with 21,960 units sold.
