Meet the hardcore Jaguar XE SV Project 8, only 300 units worldwide!

Following the launch of the highly successful Jaguar F-Type Project 7, Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has announced their next high-performance project car –  the Jaguar XE SV Project 8. Limited to just 300 units worldwide, the Project 8 will offer supercar performance and dynamics in a family sedan.

Designed, engineered and assembled by SVO at their Technical Centre in Coventry, England, the XE SV Project 8 will get a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, and in this application, producing 591 hp. Jaguar paced the car around the gruelling Nürburgring Nordschleife, no less, wrapped in a unique camouflage created by SVO Design.

From the photos and video snippets, we can tell that the Project 8 features a subtle hood scoop, revised front bumper, flared wheel arches, aggressive side skirts and rear bumper, quad exhaust outlets and a not-so-subtle rear wing.

“Our clients worldwide were thrilled by the F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level – it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that,” Said John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.

The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will debut at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed happening which is taking place on 30 June. Closer to home, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLR) has three variants of the Jaguar XE on offer and, knowing that they’ve previously managed to secure allocations of the F-Type Project 7, perhaps the idea of it coming here isn’t too far fetched at all.
