Sitting at the top of the facelifted GLA range is the fire breathing Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC. Like the regular GLA 200 and 250, the GLA 45 features refreshed looks inside and out. The world’s most powerful four-cylinder production engine also gets a slight power bump. Prices are also up slightly at RM408,888.
Under the hood, the M133 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder has been massaged to produce 375 hp and 475 Nm of torque, up 21 hp and 25 Nm from before. Power is transferred to all four corners via an AMG SPEEDSHIFT seven-speed dual clutch sports transmission. Century sprint is managed in just 4.4 seconds while top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

As standard, the GLA 45 is equipped with AMG performance exhaust system with electronically controlled flap that changes the exhaust note at the press of a button. A performance oriented AMG Ride Control sports suspension is also standard fitment.
From the outside, the GLA 45 sets itself apart from regular GLA models through the AMG Twin Blade radiator grille, sharper front apron, revised air intake and front splitter. These help guide air into the radiators more efficiently. At the rear, it features a more aerodynamic roof spoiler and new diffuser insert. These exterior revisions altogether give the GLA 45 improved driving dynamics, lower wind resistance and better stability. It rides on 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the AMG Exclusive interior package features black leather upholstery with red contrast stitching. Other AMG-specific parts include AMG performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, AMG carbon fibre trim, AMG floor mats, new instrument cluster with 30 km/h blocks (previously 20 km/h blocks) and red seat belts.
Other creature comfort amenities include keyless entry and start, panoramic sliding sunroof, powered tailgate, 8-inch Media Display Screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse camera, Harman Kardon surround sound system and powered front seats with memory function.
Like the GLA 200 and 250 4MATIC, it comes equipped with PRE-SAFE system, Active Brake Assist, adaptive brake lights, tyre pressure monitoring system, Attention Assist and active parking assist.
The Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC comes with a 4-year unlimited warranty package as standard and can be financed through Mercedes-Benz Financial with interest rates ranging from 1.88 percent to 2.88 percent.
