Mercedes-Benz Malaysia records massive growth in Q1 2017, 21 car launches to come!



After a high-flying year in 2016, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) is continuing the momentum into the first quarter of 2017. In Q1 alone, MBM shifted 2,945 vehicles, charting a double-digit growth of 11 percent compared to the same period last year.

MBM remains the leading premium marque in Malaysia with a 2.3 percent market share in the premium passenger cars segment. Let’s take a look at the breakdown:

  1. W205 C-Class CKD – 1,083 units
  2. W212 E-Class CBU – 610 units
  3. W222 S-Class CKD – 127 units
  4. X205 GLC – 491 units
  5. GLE & GLE Coupe – 103 units
  6. S-Coupe, C-Coupe, CLS, E-Coupe & AMG GT S – 93 units
  7. A-Class, B-Class, GLA & CLA – 434 units
  8. V-Class – 4 units

The GLC marked a 306 percent growth compared to Q1 2016 while the Dream Cars range saw a 365 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Commenting on the remarkable Q1 2017 results, MBM explained that this is led by its diverse product portfolio, premium after-sales support and peace of mind financing solutions from Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia (MBSM).

Moving forward, MBM has plans to launch two new models, one facelift, 14 new variants and four special edition models in 2017, starting with the A-Class Urban Hunting Edition, E-Class CKD and E 350 e plug-in hybrid.
