This special Mitsubishi Triton Barbarian SVP is limited to just 250 units

With the launch of the Mitsubishi Triton Barbarian SVP, Mitsubishi Motors UK has announced a new Special Vehicle Projects (SVP, hence the acronym) programme that gives its customers a highly exclusive range of customisations.

First of the SVP range is of course the Triton Barbarian (known in the UK as the L200). Just 250 units of the double cab pickup truck will be built, with the first half finished in Electric Blue Metallic while the other half in Cosmos Black.

A new set of 17-inch bespoke black alloy wheels shod with BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres are fitted as standard, above which are wheel arches extensions to give it a more rugged, “barbaric” appeal. This look is accentuated by an all-new matte black grille, gloss-black garnished headlamps and tail lamps, matte black roof rails and rear bumper. There’s also shark fin-inspired side steps, illuminated load bed, puddle lamps, soft-opening tailgate damper and SVP badge on the tailgate.

Inside, you get a unique serial SVP number, SVP logos embroidered into the head restraints, front and rear footwell lighting and Barbarian door entry guards. The most standout feature is the new “six-pack” leather seats with suede-like ‘Alston’ inserts.

The Mitsubishi Triton Barbarian SVP is based on the same updated Triton that’s on sale in Malaysia, which is powered by a 2.4-litre turbodiesel MIVEC engine producing 179 hp and 430 Nm of torque. The price for this special-run variant is RM159k (£28,479) before GST.
