If there’s one brand that is as committed to individuality and exclusivity as MINI, it’s DS Automobiles. Known for its trendy and fashionable styling, the DS 3 now gets a special edition variant called the DS 3 Inès de la Fressange.
Limited to just 200 units and for sale in the UK market only, the unique DS 3 was jointly designed with Inès de la Fressange. Those oblivious to the name, well, allow me the privilege: the 59-year old lady is a decorated French aristocrat and fashion designer, and if you’re one to purchase this DS 3, will get a luxury ‘Voyageur bag’ designed by Ms Inès herself.
Finished in a distinct coat of Ink Blue paint that’s contrasted by the Opal White roof and striking red side mirrors, this hatchback is laden with features as it is with style. It rides on 17-inch Aphrodite black diamond-cut wheels, while receiving subtly placed ‘Inès de la Fressange’ badging. It of course gets the top-of-the-line xenon headlamps with LED DRLs and the genius 3D-esque LED tail lamps.
The special designer attention is also brought into the cabin. Here, all seats are wrapped in Granit Blue leather with embossed headrest cover, leather wrapped steering wheel, front armrest, ‘Inès Red’ dashboard with Inès de la Fressange ‘Léon’ fawn (a baby deer) badging, Inès badge carpet mats and not forgetting the ‘Voyageur’ bag that’s purposely designed to match the Granit Blue interior.
Interestingly, DS Automobiles have not restricted the special variant to one single trim. Instead, customers can choose to have it with any three engines, including a six-speed auto or manual transmissions. Prices start from £20,310 (RM113k) to £21,830 (RM121k).
