It’s been 60 years since Maserati produced their first ever Grand Tourer, the 3500 GT. Today, the Italian company is celebrating the occasion by introducing two special edition variants of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.
Based on the outgoing versions of the GranTurismo and its convertible sibling, the GranCabrio, only 400 units will be commissioned. It bears a number of aesthetic upgrades inside and out, as you’ll soon find out. Mechanically however, remains as per standard factory settings.
Three new exterior colours are offered: New Rosso Italiano (red), Bianco Birdcage (white), and Grigio Lava (grey), joining the existing colours of Nero (black), Bianco Eldorado (white), Nero Carbonio (carbon black) and Grigio Granito (grey). All variants ride on MC-design 20-inch alloy wheels with a unique special-edition logo wheel cap. The hood, front splitter, door handles, side mirrors and rear lip spoiler are all made of carbon fibre.
The cabin gets a new Poltrona Frau leather or leather/Alcantara upholstery that’s available in four striking colour combinations. There’s also carbon fibre trimmings, including the exclusive plaque on the centre tunnel embossed with the 60th anniversary badge.
Both models are powered by a Ferrari-built 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 that outputs 405 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF-sourced six-speed dual clutch automatic. The century sprint is completed in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 285 km/h.
Back at home, both the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio are offered by Naza Italia, and customers can specify any of the two to their personal liking.
