250,000th Honda City owner gets RM6,300 worth of goodies from Honda Malaysia

Since the first introduction of the second-generation Honda City to Malaysia in 2001, the B-segment sedan has been a popular choice among Malaysians. Sixteen years later, Honda Malaysia sold 250,000 units of the car, with Mr. Tan Kian Hui being the milestone marker.

Honda shifted more than 61,000 units of the second-generation City while the third-generation went on to sell more than 84,000 units. Come the fourth-generation City, the newest model, the company sold an impressive 100,000 units between March 2014 to December 2016, making it the most popular City ever. The City has always been locally assembled, and Honda Malaysia is proud to say that their best-selling model is made here in Malaysia.

The 250,000th City presented to Mr. Tan is a grade V City finished in Modern Steel Metallic, purchased at Tiong Nam Motor (M) Sdn. Bhd. To celebrate Tan’s first car, Honda Malaysia presented Mr Tan with a full set of Honda merchandises and Honda Genuine Accessories consisting of Modulo package, Urban package and Utility package worth RM5,300 as well as RM1,000 worth of service vouchers.

“I have always had a good impression of Honda cars. When it came to buying my own car, I immediately only thought of Honda and I liked the City very much the minute I saw it because the design is very attractive. When I sat in the car for the first time, I was impressed with the amount of features such as rear view camera and rear air conditioning that give added convenience. I booked the car just about a week ago and to be the 250,000th City owner is totally unexpected. I am very happy with my new City!” said Mr. Tan who hails from Klang.

Besides that, Honda Malaysia is also giving out RM1,000 worth of service vouchers to 24 other lucky customers which will be announced on the Honda Malaysia Facebook page. Honda Malaysia is also currently running a number of campaigns, including Best Deals Promotion that rewards new customers automatically, Best Time to Get Best Protection Ecotint promotion and The Digital Treasure Hunt Wall Contest where the public can participate in the Facebook contest and stand a chance to win a variety of prizes.

The new Honda City facelift was launched earlier this month and priced between RM78k to RM92k. Over 2,000 bookings have been made in just 10 days since its arrival. It’s safe to say that the City is here to reign in the long run.
