Land Rover Velar a reality, slots between Evoque and Range Rover Sport

As one of the early pioneers in the luxury SUV segment with the original Range Rover back in 1970, it seems that Land Rover is getting serious about expanding its SUV range. Making its world debut in less than a week’s time is the Land Rover Velar, and boy does it look promising!

According to Land Rover, the Velar will be positioned between the Evoque and Range Rover Sport. The Velar was purposely designed with a “visually reductive” approach, and by that we guess it refers to the Velar’s coupe-esque styling, similar to that of the BMW X4. It will also no doubt get the brand’s full breadth of off-road magic, luxury and refined that their customers demand.

To cap things off, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer, Gerry McGovern said, “We call the Velar the avant garde Range Rover. It brings a new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the brand. The Range Rover Velar changes everything.” More information about the Velar will be unveiled on 1 March 2017.
