2017 Subaru XV teased, gets all-new platform, to CKD in Malaysia

The 2017 Subaru XV is set to make its worldwide debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. Just like the newly unveiled Impreza, the XV will also sit on the new Subaru Global Platform while receiving the DYNAMIC x SOLID design.

Being a crossover, the XV has a much higher clearance than its saloon equivalent. The picture above flaunts the new model’s character line, and its silhouette much resemble the outgoing model. According to Subaru, the XV will share the same 2.0-litre flat-four and Lineartronic CVT as the new Impreza. That direct-injected, naturally aspirated engine generates 154 hp and 196 Nm of torque.

The first-generation XV arrived in Malaysia in CKD guise, built in Tan Chong’s Segambut plant in 2012. The new model will be locally assembled, and will go on sale here in Malaysia by Q4 2017.
