Six months ago, Shell Malaysia launched a revolutionary engine warranty programme, the only one of its kind in the market, called the Shell Helix Engine Warranty (SHEW). Qualifying for the programme is absolutely free, and it is as easy as servicing your car at an authorised Shell Helix workshop.
Many of Shell Malaysia’s customers have benefitted from the programme, which warrants any engine damages caused by lubrication (or lack thereof) up to a period of 12 years or 200,000km! If you’re driving a passenger car that’s less than eight years old with less than 100,000km on the clock, then you’re completely eligible to sign up. How do I sign up, you ask? The movie ticket e-vouchers will be sent after a purchase of a 4-litre pack of Shell Helix Ultra or Shell Helix HX7. That’s it!
Shell Malaysia’s pledge is to provide the full repair costs of 15 lubricant-related parts should their Helix engine oil fail to deliver proper lubrication. The table below is a breakdown of the 15 engine components covered by SHEW:

If your beloved daily driver’s warranty coverage is coming to an end, then take comfort in knowing that Shell has got you covered, as long as you meet the criteria above. Customers who service their car with Shell Helix Ultra will be given a maximum coverage of RM15,000 (with applicable taxes including towing charges) per claim, whereas the HX7 series comes with a coverage of RM8,000. Claims can be made once every year per car, until your SHEW coverage comes to an end.
This time around, Shell Malaysia will be giving out a free pair of movie tickets to new and existing SHEW customers. Those who sign up or renew their Shell Helix Engine Warranty programme between 1 November 2016 to 31 January 2017 at an authorised SHEW workshop or Shell Petrol Station nationwide will automatically be entitled to the free movie passes. The best part is, the engine warranty programme is transferrable onto the next owner should you choose to sell off your car.
