Mitsubishi ASX facelift launched in the UK, priced from RM83k



The updated Mitsubishi ASX has just hit the showroom floors in the UK. Four variants will be on offer for the UK market, with two diesel and one petrol engines to choose from.

On the exterior, the ASX now wears the signature “Dynamic Shield” grille similar to the ones on the Mitsubishi Outlander. Elsewhere, similar to our locally refreshed ASX, the UK-bound ASX gets a shark-fin antenna as well. Wheel choices include a 16-inch for the base model while other gets a two-tone 18-inch alloys. Starting from the base ASX 2, the updated ASX gets front fog lamps, multifunction colour instrument display and leather wrapped steering wheel. Power is derived from a 1.6-litre petrol engine putting out 117 hp and 154 Nm of torque driving the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

Moving up to the ASX 3, it adds on automatic climate control, keyless entry and start, cruise control, automatic xenon projector headlamps, automatic wipers, auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated front seats, power folding mirrors and a reverse camera. Besides the 1.6-litre petrol engine, the front-wheel drive ASX 3 is also offered with a 1.6-litre turbodiesel that delivers 114 hp and 270 Nm of torque via a six-speed manual.

The ASX 4 trim comes with leather upholstery, black roof rails, aluminium pedal kit, panoramic glass roof and a 7-inch touch-screen display with Mitsubishi Multi Communication System (MMCS) with satellite navigation. Available only in four-wheel drive layout, customers can choose from either the 1.6-litre turbodiesel or a more powerful 2.2-litre turbodiesel that churns out 150 hp and 260 Nm of torque via a six-speed automatic.2016 Mitsubishi ASX Facelift UK Launch

Lastly, the top of the range ASX 5 gets Nappa leather interior with a choice of Claret Red, Porcelain Cream and Gunmetal Grey, colour matching floor and boot mat, heated rear seats, powered driver’s seat, twin rear USB charging port, LED interior lighting and front-door entry guards. Similar to the ASX 4, the four-wheel drive ASX 5 is available with either a 1.6-litre or 2.2-litre turbodiesel.

Standard safety features across the board include seven airbags, Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTCC) and hill start assist on top of the other usual suspects.2016 Mitsubishi ASX Facelift UK Launch

Pricing for the ASX facelift in the UK starts from £15,999 (RM83k) to £25,649 (RM132k) with a 5-Year or 62,500-mile warranty and 3-Year pan-European roadside, home and accident assistance. There is also a 3-Year Mitsubishi Service Plan available for £500 (RM2.6k) for 1.6-litre petrol and turbodiesel versions and £675 (RM3.5k) for the 2.2-litre turbodiesel.
