All-new Mazda CX-5 teased, debuting at the 2016 LA Motor Show

The Mazda CX-5 is due for a replacement, and it’s coming sooner than you think. The all-new 2017 Mazda CX-5 is set to make its world premier at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show this coming November.

The teaser provides a glimpse of the side profile of the new CX-5. It will be an evolution of the KODO design language, bringing the “Soul of Motion” touch to the next level. It took cues from the CX-3 and the CX-9 with some subtle touches from the already brilliant looking CX-5. The front looks longer and sharper, while the roof curves downwards.2016 Mazda CX-5 2.5L Skyactiv-G Review (Facelift) - AutoBuzz.my

No technical information was released but it’s likely the current Mazda’s SkyActiv petrol and diesel engines and the six-speed automatic gearbox will soldier on, albeit more refined. There’s a good possibility Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control will be introduced in this new CX-5. As always, a choice of a front-wheel or all-wheel drive will be available.

The Mazda CX-5 kickstarted Hiroshima’s strong footing in the SUV market, so this new CX-5 has big shoes to fill. Stay tuned for more updates of the all-new CX-5!
