The Porsche Macan Turbo is the top of the line variant in the Macan SUV line-up. With a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6, the Turbo packs a fearsome amount of power under its hood. Even so, the guys at Porsche felt the need to give the engine a little rub.
Porsche has just introduced a Performance Package to extract an additional 40 hp and 50 Nm from the engine, bringing the total output to 440 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This brings the century sprint time down 0.4 seconds to a blistering 4.4 seconds. Porsche also said with the Sport Plus mode engaged, the acceleration time from 80 km/h to 120 km/h has reduced by 0.2 seconds to 2.9 seconds. With the upgrade, the Macan Turbo can achieve speeds of up to 272 km/h compared to the standard 266 km/h.
To compliment the significant power upgrade, Porsche has also made some tweaks to the brakes, suspension and chassis. Firstly, the front brakes are now 30mm larger than standard and features a six-piston brake callipers painted in red. The Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) has been tuned to be 15mm lower. An active air suspension that lowers the ride height by 10mm can also be specified, for a price.
Additionally, to differentiate the Performance Package Macan Turbo, customers can tailor their Macan with a range of exterior options. This includes 21-inch 911 Turbo design wheels and gloss black accents around the main headlamps. The interior can be specified with black leather with Alcantara combination, coloured or carbon trims in numerous area.
No news if this package will be made available in Malaysia yet, but we feel that it’s only a matter of time before Porsche Malaysia introduces this.
