Ford GT personalisation list revealed, dress it as you wish!

It’s been a little over 18 months since the new Ford GT was revealed to the world. Shortly after, the first batch of 500 units have subsequently been snapped up, with bookings soared 13 times the allocated units. Those who missed out on the first batch had their chance at the GT ’66 Heritage Edition, though.

Now, Ford Motor Company has announced that the GT can be had in eight exterior shades; matte black, silver, grey, black, white, red and yellow, including the striking Liquid Blue option in the picture above. Of course, the iconic racing stripes can also be optioned for. Ford-GT-66-heritage-edition (3)

In order to boost desirability and exclusivity, the GT’s interior can also be personalised to your liking. An array of stitching options, ribbing and fabric colours are available. This extends to the six-piston calipers. Originally, the calipers are anodised in a black coat, but buyers can change them to silver, red, blue or orange.

Ford’s design manager, Barb Whalen said, “The GT will only be available in small selection of exterior colours and not with the near infinite number of options some other supercar makers offer because these colours aren’t trendy. The GT isn’t a trendy car. It’s a classic – a veritable race car for the road.”ford-gt-3

There’s no word as yet whether the Ford GT will officially be sold in Malaysia through sole distributor Sime Darby Auto ConneXion. Since the first 500 units have all been sold, we can at best expect no more than five units, if ever it finds its way here.
