If the idea of owning a brand new Mercedes-Benz seems too big a financial commitment, it probably is. Your alternative option is to look for a cheaper reconditioned unit through a parallel importer (we really don’t recommend this), but that hardly comes packaged with proper after sales support and warranty coverage.
They say good things come to those who wait. To the patient ones among you, dear readers, this news is perhaps the kind you’ve been waiting for. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has officially introduced their “Proven Exclusivity” programme that offers a variety of pre-owned Mercedes-Benz cars to prospective and aspiring owners.
Vehicles sold under this programme are strictly sourced from authorised MBM dealers, which means all cars come with proper parts and components that’s most suited for our humid and temperate climate. To qualify for this programme, the cars must be no more than six years old and have absolutely no structural damage. They must also be fully serviced and maintained by authorised MBM service centres, clocked less than 125,000km and serviced only using original Mercedes-Benz parts.
Surely there must be a more comprehensive criteria for that all-important hassle free ownership, right? Yes, in fact all cars to be sold under this programme will undergo a mandatory multi-point inspection. Certified technicians will perform 215 individual inspection, as illustrated below:
- Electrical Systems and Function Test (75-point inspection)
- Undercarriage and Drivetrain (27-point inspection)
- Chassis and Body (23-point inspection)
- Road Test (27-point inspection)
- Post Road Test (14-point inspection)
- Engine, Systems and Pre-Road Test Checks (31-point inspection)
- External Body (18-point inspection)
For the added peace of mind, all vehicles purchased under this programme will be covered by a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty on top of the remaining manufacturer’s warranty. This means if the Mercedes-Benz of your choice is registered in 2014, your new pre-owned car will continue to be covered by the 5-Year factory warranty (effectively three years left) PLUS the 12-month Proven Exclusivity warranty package.
In conjunction with the launch of this programme, Hap Seng Star Balakong is having a Pre-Owned Carnival that will run until 12 June 2016. If you live out of the Klang Valley or find the journey too exhaustive, you can visit any authorised Mercedes-Benz dealerships (be it Hap Seng Star, Cycle & Carriage or NZ Wheels) to purchase the pre-owned car of your choice.
