In keeping up with the high, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) introduced yet another model to Malaysia, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. This fully imported “Baby S-Class” is priced from RM308,888 and can be had in three trims – C 200 Coupe, C 250 Coupe and C300 Coupe.
Output and equipment levels are very much similar to that of the locally assembled W205 C-Class, and all three variants are powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, albeit in differing states of tune.

EXTERIOR
On the outside, all the C-Class Coupes are given the AMG Line treatment, which means you get a sports grille, AMG front and rear bumpers (the latter with integrated body-coloured diffusers), welcoming lights, full LED headlamps and AMG wheels. The wheels on the C 200 are of the five-spoke design and measure at 18-inch, wrapped with 225/45 series tyres up front and 245/40 profiled rubbers at the back. Move one trim up and you’ll get 19-inch hoops (also a five-spoke design), but are shod with lower profile 225/40 and 255/35 tyres for the front and rear respectively.
Standard on both C 200 and C 250 are the twin exhaust system. For RM389k, the C 300 comes with extra toys such as Adaptive Highbeam Assist, powered panoramic sunroof, a more sonorous sports exhaust system and a multi-spoke 19-inch AMG wheels.
INTERIOR
The cabin is standard W205 issue, with the C 200 and C 250 both settling for the Audio 20 head unit with CD player. This supports Garmin GPS navigation, AM/FM radio and Bluetooth handsfree connectivity. All four seats (yes, this car accommodates just four) across the board are wrapped in leather and come with interior lighting package as standard. Other factory fitted items include push-start button, illuminated door sill panels, cruise control with speed limiter, electric parking brake, reverse camera (this pops out through the Mercedes-Benz emblem on the tailgate) and powered seats.
The range topper comes with Burmester surround sound system, COMAND online head unit that supports DVD playback, ARTICO leather dashboard, carbon fibre centre console, open pore ashwood trim (the cheaper duo get aluminium trimmings) and a fancy analogue clock just below the air conditioning vents.
PERFORMANCE
Underneath the hood of all three cars lies the same M274 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that is mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. All three are turbocharged, but outputs range from 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque for the C 200; 211 hp and 350 Nm for the C 250 and 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque for the C 300. Drive is sent to the rear wheels only.
At the flick of a switch, drivers can change engine, throttle and transmission behaviour through Dynamic Select – a feature standard on all variants. There are five drive modes to choose from: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport + and Individual.
