Limited edition Isuzu D-Max Beast launched, priced from RM120k

Three weeks ago, we had a first glimpse of Isuzu’s limited edition D-Max when pictures of its studio shoot were leaked on the Internet. We can lay the rumours to rest now, because Isuzu Malaysia has finally took the wraps off the Isuzu D-Max Beast.

Presumably the final special edition variant before the facelifted D-Max arrives later this year, the Beast is essentially a visually enhanced pickup truck meant to keep the ute in check with its newer competitors, namely the Triton, Hilux and Navara. Just 360 units will be built, and it can be had in either the 2.5-litre or 3.0-litre turbodiesel engines.2016 Isuzu D-Max Beast Launched in Malaysia - AutoBuzz.my

The D-Max Beast is only available in two different colours – Magnum White Solid and Titan Silver Metallic. They both get the same blacked out parts on the outside, such as matte black front bumper (with silver accent), black ‘side blades’ next to the headlamps, black rear lamp guard, side mirrors, door handles, matte black roof rails, tailgate handle, rear bumper, side steps and wheel arches. It sits on a new set of matte black 17-inch wheels, shod with 255/65 series tyres. Finishing off the exterior upgrade is the integrated LED daytime running lights, housed within the fog lamp binnacles.2016 Isuzu D-Max Beast Launched in Malaysia - AutoBuzz.my

As with any limited edition D-Maxes, the Beast gets exclusive decals on the side and rear portion of the vehicle. The Claw Bar is also packaged into the mix, which includes aero-spoiler and bed liner.

Inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the new dual tone Italian leather seats with “BEAST LE” embroidery. Even the centre arm rest is wrapped in this dual tone leather. As with the regular D-Max, the automatic climate control is only reserved for the 3.0-litre variant.

Other new additions are the exclusive Beast carpet, LED illuminated stainless steel ‘Isuzu’ door sills and a new 6.2-inch Kenwood touchscreen head unit with reverse camera. The standard six-speaker configuration now gets boosted by a Bongiovi digital amplifier, and the dashboard is now finished in a darker shade of grey.

The limited edition D-Max Beast is now available for viewing and booking at your nearest authorised Isuzu dealership. Again, only 360 examples of this variant will be made before the D-Max facelift finds its way here.
