2016 Volkswagen Vento now open for booking, priced from RM80k [+Video]

We are less than two weeks away from the arrival of the new Volkswagen Vento – a model formerly known as the Polo Sedan. Instead of the one-trim only Polo Sedan, Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) will offer three variants of the Vento.

The trio (Trendline, Comfortline and Highline) will be priced between RM80,000 to RM90,000. Powertrain choices now include a new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine (Highline only), and this 104 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque four banger will be paired to a seven-speed dry dual clutch transmission.2016 Volkswagen Vento Teaser - AutoBuzz.my

The Trendline and Comfortline will soldier on with the outgoing 1.6-litre MPI engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox driving the front wheels. Volkswagen prides the Vento Highline for its non-compromity in the safety aspects, boasting a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP award thanks to four airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Intelligent Crash Response System and Isofix anchors.

As you would have noticed, the tail lamps now feature LED modules, unlike the bulb-type reflectors seen in the locally assembled Polo Sedan. VGM is now taking orders for the Vento ahead of its Malaysian debut on 19 May, so stay tuned for the full report!
