2016 Volvo V90 revealed ahead of February 18 launch

Just one week before the official unveiling of the Volvo V90, Volvo has generously published the first few official images of its latest wagon (previously leaked), one that will sit next to the new S90.

Judging from the pictures, the V90 looks like a lower and wider version of the XC90 SUV, while remains distinctively different than the SUV. The V90 also receives a different set of rear lights, which looks more conservative compared to the controversial S90. The front end meanwhile, is an exact copy of the S90, which is good. The inside remains status quo with the S90 as well.volvo-v90-1

Sharing the similar SPA platform just like the XC90 and S90, it’s clear as day that the V90 will be using the same powertrains as its crossover and sedan siblings. Hence, expect the range-topping 407 hp T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid to be offered. A hotter treatment from Polestar is also in the works as well, bringing memories of the flying Volvo 850 wagon back to our minds.

No official release date has been revealed, but by the looks of it, the V90 will most likely grace our roads sometime in 2017, right after the S90’s Malaysia arrival.
