Koenigsegg Agera RS all sold out, one of 25 units bound for Malaysia

Swedish hypercar manufacturer, Koenigsegg, has announced that all 25 units of the Agera RS have been sold out within the time span of 10 months. Interestingly, one of the 25 examples will be making its way to Malaysian, bought by a very wealthy Malaysian figure.

The Agera RS was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show with a limited production of 25 units. Customers from all over the world including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and our very own Malaysia had paid $2 million (close to RM9 million) to obtain this exclusive hypercar. That said, this has made the Agera RS the company’s fastest selling model, ever.koenig-ageraRS-1

The Agera RS is basically an Agera that’s tuned to outperform the already beastly R and S models, while losing out only by a whisker to the more maniacal One:1 model. Its 5.0-litre V8 twin turbo engine produces 1,160 hp with 1,280 Nm of torque at 4,100rpm and is mated with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. Weighing just 1,395kg, it can hit from 0-100km/h in a blistering 2.9 seconds and will top out at 439 km/h!

Koenigsegg founder Christian von Koenigsegg said: “I am extremely proud of the Agera RS program. The RS is a classic Koenigsegg, with all the core values and features that the Koenigsegg brand stands for.”

He adds, “The performance, road feel and responsiveness are truly amazing and the level of technical sophistication is second to none. It is a true ‘pinnacle’ project that has been wholly embraced by our customers and friends.”koenig-ageraRS-2

The cars will be built throughout 2016, with the final unit expected to leave the assembly line by 2017. In Malaysia, the Koenigsegg Agera S was offered by Naza Swedish Motors for a cool RM5 million, and that’s before taxes and GST. Our guess on how much that Malaysian buyer paid for the Agera RS is as good as yours.
