McLaren 675LT Spider all sold out, pays tribute with a video

This year has been a mixed bag for McLaren. While their lacklustre Formula One season is best left forgotten, its road car division is having one of the best times yet. All 500 units 675LT Spider have been snapped up; that’s impressive considering that the car was just unveiled earlier this December!

The 675LT comes in two variants – Coupe and Spider, and we all know that the Spider is one to go despite the £28,000 premium (or RM180k) over the coupe. The 6765LT is fitted with a revised 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8, producing a devilish 666 hp with 698 Nm of torque.675LT-1

The £285,450 (RM1.8 mil) Long Tail Spider is capable of reaching 100 km/h from nought in a blistering 2.9 seconds. Its three-piece folding hardtop can be operated at speeds up to 30 km/h, and it weighs 40kg more than the coupe.

Despite the technical shortcomings of a Spider, the looks of the Spider alone will awaken our subconscious to write a cheque of the car’s worth. Even if we don’t have that amount of money in our bank account, the least we can do is to watch this video from McLaren’s factory driver, Bruno Senna, on the 675LT.675LT-2
