There’s no saying more fitting than “when it rains, it pours”. Come 12.00am of 15 October, most major highways in the Klang Valley will see a jump of toll rates from between 20 sen to RM3. Yesterday, we reported about a dozen highways involved in the move, but it’s now confirmed that LDP or (Damansara-Puchong Expressway), SPRINT and Penchala Link will not be spared.
The new rates for Class 1 vehicles on the LDP is RM2.10 – up 50 sen from the previous RM1.60. This applies to all four plazas at Puchong north and south, Penchala and Petaling Jaya. Class 2 vehicles will now pay RM4.20 (up RM1.00) instead of RM3.20; Class 3 vehicles’ new rate is RM6.30 (before this it was RM4.80) and taxis or Class 4 vehicle will pay an addition 30 sen at RM1.10. Buses on the other hand, which fall under the Class 5 category, will pay the same RM1.60.
Another high-traffic expressway involved is the Western KL Traffic Dispersal Link System or SPRINT highway. Two toll plazas are affected – Damansara and Pantai, both of which will cost RM2.00 and RM2.50 for Class 1 vehicles with each toll up by RM1.00 respectively. Last but not least is the Penchala Link Bukit Kiara toll. It will now cost RM3.00 – also costing RM1.00 more for Class 1 vehicles.
