One of 600 Lamborghini Aventador SVs destroyed by flames in Dubai [+Video]

As the saying goes, all good things come to an end, and it couldn’t be truer for the owner of this particular Lamborghini Aventador. It’s not just any Aventador, mind you, but one of 600 fine examples of the Italian carmaker’s fastest production model to date, the LP 750-4 Superveloce.

The fire took place on an undisclosed stretch of Dubai Marina and is said to have originated from the engine bay before making its way to consume the rest of the car. According to Osama Farkh of ArabGT, the flaming V12 supercar is purportedly a customised version that can and should handle the high temperatures of UAE.

Update: The burnt Aventador is in fact not the LP 750-4 SV, but more possibly the LP 720-4 50 Anniversario; an even rarer specimen bearing what is believed to be an aftermarket ‘SV’ decal.

Witnesses at the scene saw the driver escape unscathed, but one can only imagine the heartbreak of the driver who helplessly watched his/her Italian exotic get burnt down. To add more twist to the story, a Russian woman by the name of Victoria Vikki said on Instagram that the Aventador was a rental unit and it burst into flames after just 30 minutes of driving. She sure showed no sympathy for the loss.

Was just about 30 minutes after the rental…? #CiaoBella ?? ? pic by ?? @victoria.vikki ??

To recap, the Aventador SV packs a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 that makes 750 hp at 8,400 rpm and 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. With a century sprint time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of over 350 km/h, the menacing bull cracked the Nurburgring at a shade under 7 minutes. Drive is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed ISR transmission.

But wait, did you know that the Aventador SV will be making its way here sometime soon? Lamborghini KL in April announced that five units of the LP 750-4 are headed our way, but each of them have already been bought. Let’s just hope none of the five will have to suffer the same fate its brother did in Dubai.
