BMW X6 M arrives in Malaysia, priced at RM1.2m

BMW Group Malaysia have announced the arrival of their meanest Sports Activity CoupĂ© (SAC), the BMW X6 M. The F86 X6 M is the sleeker twin of the F85 X5 M which was revealed together earlier this year, but there’s no word yet on whether the taller twin will make it to our shores or not. Anyway, for the Malaysian market, the twin-turbo V8 beast carries an equally beastly price tag at RM1.2m a pop.

Yes, the cooked-up version of the F16 X6 is more than RM500k dearer than the X6 xDrive35i M Sport that was launched a few months ago during the BMW World Malaysia event, and not to mention it’s also more expensive than the funky i8 hybrid supercar too.2015-BMW-X6-M-launch-Malaysia-002

From the side, apart from the twin-arm side mirrors, the X6 M also rides 10mm lower, while the wheel arches are filled with 21-inch M alloy wheels. The back receives a boot lid spoiler, and four round tailpipes exit under the M-specific rear bumper.

INTERIOR

The cabin have been spruced up with various M bits, which includes the three-spoke M steering wheel with shift paddles, the M gearshift lever, and the gorgeous M multifunction front bucket seats.

Furthermore, you can access the BMW M lap timer app on your smartphone via the iDrive controller for an “in-depth analysis of your driving style”, and there’s even an optional full-colour Head-Up Display with rev-counter and shift lights for the racer in you

BMW ConnectedDrive is fitted as standard, and it features the latest generation Navigation System Professional with 3D map display.

PERFORMANCE

The 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 is currently the most powerful engine ever fitted to any all-wheel drive BMW vehicle so far. Dishing out 575 hp and 750 Nm of twisting force, the X6 M will get from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. That’s 0.4 seconds quicker than the Cayman GTS!2015-BMW-X6-M-launch-Malaysia-009

Power is sent to the M-tuned xDrive all-wheel drive system via the 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, and the claimed fuel consumption is said to be 11.1 l/100 km.

To ensure the vehicle delivers on the handling department, the X6 M comes with stiffer springs and Dynamic Drive anti-roll system which helps to minimise body roll, while understeer is taken care by the Dynamic Performance Control. Pneumatic rear suspension and Dynamic Damper Control are also featured, which allow the dampers to be adjusted electronically to suit your driving style.2015-BMW-X6-M-launch-Malaysia-001
