This First Look video particularly highlights the Camry Hybrid 2.5L (locally assembled, in case you didn’t know that yet), as per the title. We also did a round with the 2.0G variant for those who are more willing to spend RM160k on a sedan instead of the range topping Hybrid that’s priced at RM174,900. The base 2.0E variant goes for RM149,900.

The Camry 2.0G gets an all-new engine and six-speed transmission

In summary, all three variants get aesthetic and mechanical upgrades, from the front face, the wheels, its rump, interior, engine and transmission; pretty much everything is updated for the better here. The 2.0-litre engine is new, as does the six-speed transmission it’s paired to. The Hybrid variant gets an E-CVT gearbox, also known as Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) paired to a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 270 Nm electric motor. Fuel consumption for this is claimed to be 5.2 litres per 100km.

There are five colours to choose from – Medium Silver Metallic, Attitude Black, Silver Metallic, White Pearl CS and a new shade called the Grey Metallic. Again, without its EEV incentive, the Hybrid would cost at RM250k brand new. Only 7,000 units of this Hybrid will be made this year till end-December, after which its pricing may not be the same anymore.
