The Mitsubishi ASX, or Mitsubishi Outlander as it is known in the American market, will now be offered with a larger 2.4-litre engine and sold alongside the existing 2.0-litre variant.
Offered there in two trims – the 2.4 ES and 2.4 GT, the larger MIVEC engine makes 168 hp, about 20 horsepower more than the smaller engine. The range topping Outlander Sport 2.4 GT is equipped with power driver’s seat, aluminium pedals, leather wrapped brake handle, blackened exterior roof rails and LED signal indicators built into the side mirrors.
There’s also an optional GT Premium Package that gives you a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system with nine speakers and a subwoofer. Panoramic sunroof, adjustable ambient lighting and auto dimming rear view mirror also comes with the pack, whereas the GT Touring Package adds leather seats, GPS navigation with 7-inch touch screen display unit, 3D mapping and real-time traffic monitoring.
Pricing for the Outlander Sport 2.4 ES is at USD 21,295 (RM76,000 est) and the range topper 2.4 GT is sold for USD 23,595 (RM84,000 est). They come with a 5-year or 100,000km fully transferable warranty, 10-year or 160,000km powertrain warranty, 7-year or 160,000km anti-corrosion perforation warranty and a 5-year unlimited mileage roadside assistance benefits.
