The Focus SE is essentially a Focus Sport + with several enhancements, most prominently the blacked out hood and side mirrors. Other additions for nearly RM2,000 gets you the custom made full bodykit, LED daytime running lights, the SE decals, interior sport carpet mats and leather seats. There’s also a special body colour to go with this trim – Winning Blue, as seen in the pictures here. We think it’s a no-brainer deal.

Focus SE - Profile

No mechanical changes here, and the Focus SE soldiers on with its 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine shared with the other Focuses. It makes 170 hp at 6,500 rpm and 202 Nm of torque at 4,450 rpm, whilst returning a combined fuel consumption of 6.6 litres per 100 km.

Transmission choice is also the same here, with the brand’s six-speed Powershift dual clutch (dry type) automatic transmission driving the front wheels.

Focus SE - Low shot

Just to remind you, the Focus comes with six airbags as standard, on top of its impressive safety kit that’s comprised of Hill Launch Assist (HLA), Electronic Passive Anti-Theft Alarm System and Fuel Cut-off Inertia Switch – just to name a few. Headlights are bi-xenon and the car comes with powered sunroof as standard.

Again, for just a little less than RM2,000 you get what’s already a bargain buy. Leather seats and all-around bodykit? That’ll easily cost you RM3,000 to RM4,000 in the aftermarket. As with other Fords, this Focus SE gets 5-years or 200,000km warranty programme (whichever comes first) including Ford’s 3-year or 60,000km Extended Service Plan that covers parts and labour for free.
