Now that the exterior has been unveiled, we can see that Volvo’s latest design language is less curvy and more upright. The clean lines lend the new XC90 a more elegant butch looks with a few neat touches to keep it interesting. The main talking point will be the headlamps with T-shaped LED daytime running lights styled like Thor’s Hammer.

The grille is filled with vertical slats and now more in the shape of a rectangle than a trapezoid, emphasizing the new straighter lines used on the rest of the vehicle including the sharper shoulder lines on the sides of the vehicle. At the back the styling is still recognisable as a Volvo with the stepped taillights design that has been subtly evolved.

There are two main styling packages highlighted for the new XC90. The Urban Luxury package looks classier with all the lower section painted in the same body colour with polished stainless steel trims and a set of 21-inch polished wheels. Another styling package called the Rugged Luxury will get matte black trims with stainless steel skid plates, integrated exhaust pipes as well as a set of 22-inch wheels.

The interior was revealed awhile ago here, packed with latest technology that is claimed to change the driving experience with most of the buttons have been abolished for a simpler interface. Everything is focused on the main tablet-like 8-inch touchscreen to control most of the functions in the XC90.
