The biggest BMW Motorrad gathering in Malaysia happened at the first ever BMW Motorrad Day 2014, at Palace of Justice, Putrajaya. Organized by BMW Motorrad Malaysia, it is also the largest BMW Motorrad event in the country.
More than a thousand BMW Motorrad Club members, BMW motorcycles owners and enthusiasts were treated with car and bike stunts, and five new motorcycles launches.
BMW Group Malaysia CEO, Dr. Gerhard Pils welcomed the crowd, including riders from Singapore and Thailand. Followed by a speech from BMW Motorrad head of region Asia, Pacific, Middle East, China and South Africa, Florian Renndorfer.
The highlight of the day was the launch of five new models namely the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, K 1600 GTL Exclusive, R 1200 RT and of course the BMW R nineT and S 1000 R, which had a media launch the day before. There to introduce these new wheels was Product Manager of BMW Motorrad, Ulrich Ast.
The other attraction was stunt demonstrations by a MINI Cooper S Coupe, driven by our very own Ivan Khong, National Gymkhana Champion.
Also, BMW Motorrad France stunt rider Jimmy Quétel, better known as Big Jim, tamed the BMW F 800 R and the new BMW S 1000 R. The French stunt rider wowed the crowd with his amazing agility and skills, handling the huge BMW motorcycles and performing stunts with extraordinary showmanship.
