Meet the new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, the replacement for the iconic Gallardo. This 610 horsepower all-wheel drive supercar is lighter, faster and even more powerful than its predecessor. We have just seen the images ahead of its official debut in our previous post, now here it is official and very much confirmed.

The Gallardo has been the most successful member of the Lamborghini family, in terms of sales figures at 14,022 units. Here, Lamborghini has put together not just its replacement but also redefining the benchmark and is described as a new dimension in Luxury Super Sports Cars. Powered by the highly modified 5.2-litre V10 Gallardo engine, it now churns out 610hp with top speed of over 325 km/h and max torque of 560 Nm. It’s able to get from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
The word ‘Huracan’ was Mayan for god of fire, wind and storms, which now means ‘hurricane’ in Spanish. If you have been following our posts, we may have mentioned that Lamborghini is moving away from using names from famous fighting bulls on this new supercar, well we were wrong. This new supercar is named after fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed, that was known for its courage and aggression. It is good to know Lamborghini is maintaining its naming tradition.
This new Lambo does feature some genes from the Aventador and the Reventon. The back however is a little too subtle for a raging bull. The overall look is a Lamborghini for sure, especially with the large air intakes on both sides of the car. Produced at the Automobili Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese on a newly-equipped production line, the Huracan is made from multimaterial components that created its hybrid chasis, using aluminium and carbon fibre. With that, it is stiffer and lighter, enhancing power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33kg per horsepower.
The interior is covered with fine Nappa leather and Alcantara which is unmistakably Lamborghini. Vehicle and driving info is displayed on a 12.3 inch full-color TFT instrument panel in the center console. Lamborghini tries to achieve the highest quality with luxurious interior for both driver and passenger.
Huracan’s V10 engine is mated with the new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) and fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. With three setups to choose from; STRADA, SPORT and CORSA, each mode sets up and allows the gearbox, engine, the four-wheel-drive system, electronic stability control and even the sound to behave and react differently depending on the driving conditions. For better braking performance, carbon-ceramic brakes are a standard feature in the Huracan.
