Lamborghini Veneno Roadster World Premiere on Italian aircraft carrier in Abu Dhabi

A car launch event on a naval aircraft carrier, is a one of a kind world premiere that you will never normally see, or rather never ever see in Malaysia. That’s because, it’s the World Premiere for the €3.3 million Lamborghini Veneno Roadster super sports car. An exclusive party was thrown by Lamborghini on a 240 meter Italian aircraft carrier in Abu Dhabi’s Mina Zayed port to celebrate the debut of the new Lambo.

“The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is one of the world’s most exclusive cars with the most extraordinary performance,” says Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini. “We are honored that Lamborghini was chosen to represent the Italian car industry in the UAE, as a perfect example of iconic Italian super sports cars, and that we have the opportunity to show the Veneno Roadster for the first time in Abu Dhabi. Lamborghini has an extremely strong following in the region for its super sports cars, with the Middle East one of our largest markets in the world.”

The evening was attended by VIPs and people who can actually afford the new raging bull. However, even if you 3.3 million euro spare change in your pocket, you may not be able to get hold of one because only nine units will be produced. The hardtop version of the Lamborghini Veneno was unveiled earlier this year, made to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. Only THREE were made, a green, white, and red one, each representing a colour of the Italian flag.

Like all Lambos, the model names come from famous fighting bulls. ‘Veneno’ comes from the name of the fastest and strongest fighting bull ever, that killed a matador back in 1914. This 6.5L V12 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has a maximum power output of 750 hp (552 kW), it charges from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, it can go up to a top speed of 355 km/h. A roadster with such speed and power? It would probably tear your face in-side-out.

This machine is made mainly out of carbon fiber, even the entire cockpit is dressed in woven carbon-fiber CarbonSkin. It’s carbon fiber monocoque is visible inside the car around the central tunnel and the sills. The bucket seats are light and strong, which are made from Lamborghini’s patented Forged Composite. This carefully designed roadster is one fit machine, it weighs only 1,490 kilograms, with a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.99 kg/hp. For €3.3 million excluding tax a pop, it’s best to keep it at home away from other crazy drivers on the roads.
